Quiet and Peaceable

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

This is what I have always wanted, to lead a quiet and peaceable life.  I imagine most people have similar desires.  Life isn't always simple and quiet and peaceable, and sometimes we have to get involved with the business of earning a living, caring for a family, and making a difference for good in the world and community.  I still believe that we each need to find quiet and peaceable times in our lives where we can be still.  We need times of prayer and contemplation, and times of inspiration.   If we sincerely make the time to  quietly seek out the Lord each day, I know he will bless us with the knowledge that He lives and with the strength that we need to make our way through the challenges and difficulties of life.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, if you desire a further witness, cast your mind upon the night that you cried unto me in your heart, that you might know concerning the truth of these things.  Did I not speak peace to your mind concerning the matter?  What greater witness can you have than from God?

  1. I LOVE YOUR BLOG and the testimony you bear through your post s. I'm glad that you found my blog which lead me to yours. I hope you will follow me because I look forward to following you and getting to know you. D andC 101:16 is one I make myself remember often when I get impatient for prayers to be answered more quickly.
    I'm going to read the rest of your posts now. I won't take time to comment on them but I'm sure I'll enjoy them. I'll start with your priesthood post. Come read my prayer for p post. I did not mention it but it was through a priesthood blessing and prayer my life was saved last month. Thanks again for visiting my blog. Hugs, Lura

    1. I had considered blogging about prayer for the letter "P" since it is such an important part of my daily life. I can't imagine facing life without it! I was so glad to read of the way prayer and the priesthood have helped you this past year. It sounds like you have had a few challenges to face and overcome. I look forward to reading more of your posts!

  2. You're right that we can't always have a life that is peaceable and quiet, but we CAN always take the time to "be still" and know God.

    1. The quiet times help and strengthen us to face the difficult times, don't they? Thanks for your comments.
