Thankful Thursday: Grandson

source

This past week has been a most exciting and eventful week for our family.  Last month on May 11th our grandson was officially adopted by DS2 and DDIL.  This past Thursday DH, DD1, and myself drove out to visit so we could participate in several important events.  On Saturday we were joined by DS1 and DD3 and several other extended family members in the LDS Temple where our dear grandson was sealed for time and all eternity to his adoptive parents.  When a couple is married in an LDS Temple, any children born to them are automatically sealed to them at birth.  When a child is adopted, as soon as the adoption is final and legal, the child can then be sealed to the parents.

On Sunday morning dear grandson received a special priesthood blessing from his father during the weekly Sacrament Meeting, and now his name is officially listed as a child of record on the records of the Church of  Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Once he reaches the age of accountability at the age of eight years old, he can be officially baptized as a member of the church.  And for now we love him and cherish every moment we have with our sweet, innocent and loving new grandson!

10 Behold I say unto you that this thing shall ye teach—repentance and baptism unto those who are accountable and capable of committing sin; yea, teach parents that they must repent and be baptized, and humble themselves as their little children, and they shall all be saved with their little children.
11 And their little children need no repentance, neither baptism. Behold, baptism is unto repentance to the fulfilling the commandments unto the remission of sins.
12 But little children are alive in Christ, even from the foundation of the world; if not so, God is a partial God, and also a changeable God, and a respecter to persons; for how many little children have died without baptism!

**  I won't be posting photos of dear grandson on this blog, just as I avoid posting current photos of any friends and family members here.  I hope you will forgive me for not sharing, but just know that he is absolutely the most adorable grandson that there ever was!!!
