Service

For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink:  I was a stranger, and ye took me in:  Naked, and ye clothed me:  I was sick, and ye visited me:  I was in prison, and ye came unto me.  . . .  And the king shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

I am so ever grateful to the many people who have helped me throughout my life:  my dear Mother and Father, grandparents, siblings, DH, children, friends, neighbors, teachers, co-workers, and church members. Even strangers have often been the ones who were there when I needed help.  There has always been someone in my life who I have been able to call upon for help in times of need, and most times the service has been provided without my even asking.  You are all examples to me, and I want to be more like you.

And behold, I tell you these things that ye  may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God.

But ye will teach them to walk in the ways of truth and soberness; ye will teach them to love one another, and to serve one another.

  1. These are 3 of my favorite scriptures. I've benefited from the service of others many times. I also try to give service to others. Hugs

    1. I wish I could say I was a good example of giving service. I try, but know I don't do nearly as well as I should, but, I do know first hand that it brings the greatest joy ever!

  2. It's important to recall all the people who we're grateful for and who has helped us when we needed it. :)
