A to Z Challenge: Ice Cream

If you were able to read my post Dances last week, you may remember that on the night we met, my DH invited me over to his place for banana splits.   I declined, since my cousin was visiting with me, and I didn't want to leave her on her own, but later on DH and I did enjoy a banana split or two together.   DH had a set of glass banana boats that were perfect for dishing up a late night snack of ice cream, and when we were married two years later we received several additional sets of glass banana boat dishes.   We have used them many times since then, but have not often had a big enough crowd to use all 16 of them at one time.  We almost have enough family members to use them all now, but not quite.   I used to imagine that our children would bring their friends and dates home for ice cream and to hang out with their dear parents, but somehow that doesn't happen as often as I would like.

So how about it kids . . . When will you be home for ice cream???  There's plenty in the freezer!

  1. Funny how fashions in wedding gifts change and one gets too many of one thing. for gifts we received, amongst other things, 3 fondue pots. They were trendy in the early 70s.
